The Bowery Mission Young Philanthropists is a group of influential young professionals living and working in New York City who are involved with the life-transforming work of The Bowery Mission & Kids With A Promise. The group plans exciting fundraising events events, volunteers and informs people of the programs of The Bowery Mission & Kids With A Promise. Each gathering is a terrific opportunity to get together, network and have fun with other rising leaders in the city. Each gathering benefits the men, women and children of The Bowery Mission & Kids With A Promise. Past Events Spring Social Wednesday, May 26, 2010 Madison Green Condo, 30th Floor Party Room On Thursday, May 26th about 30 guests attended The Young Philanthropists Spring Social to benefit Mont Lawn Camp, The Bowery Mission & Kids With A Promise's summer camp for at-risk NYC youth. The guests enjoyed a tasting of 3 Spanish wines, tasty hors d'ouevres and sunset views of Madison Square Park and the Hudson River. The $800 raised at the event will send two children to Mont Lawn Camp this summer. Rooftop Party Thursday, September 17, 2009 Gawker Media Rooftop, NYC
On Thursday, September 17th about 150 young professionals attended The Young Philanthropists Rooftop Party. The guests braved the chill air on the expansive Gawker Media Rooftop. Live music was provided by the LES Hotclub and more than $3,000 was raised for the programs of The Bowery Mission. Wine Tasting Party Tuesday, April 7, 2009 Madison Green Condominium, 30th Floor Party Room On Tuesday, April 7th about 50 young professionals attending The Young Philanthropists Wine Tasting Party. Over $1,100 was raised for the programs of The Bowery Mission, and the guests enjoyed spectacular views of Madison Square Park and sampled spring wines generously donated by our wine sponsors. Thanksgiving Party & Goods Drive Monday, November 17, 2008 Lotus Salon, 34 North Moore Street, Tribeca Each Thanksgiving The Bowery Mission serves about 2,500 people a warm meal, and each person leaves with warm clothes and fresh toiletries. On Monday, November 17th about 55 young professionals came together and raised $2,315, collected toiletries and clothing for Thanksgiving at the hip Tribeca salon, Lotus. Guests enjoyed a tasting of 5 different wines courtesy of Cabrini Wines, Noble House Wines and Tempranillo, Inc. and learned about the programs of The Bowery Mission. Service Project at The Bowery Mission ~ Saturday, October 25, 2008 On Saturday, October 25th members of the Young Philanthropists came together to prepare and serve lunch to the homeless community at The Bowery Mission. Wine Tasting Party ~ Saturday, July 26, 2008 The Orion, 31st Floor About 60 guests came together in support of The Bowery Mission & Kids With A Promise at the Young Philanthropists Wine Tasting Party on Saturday, July 26th at The Orion in New York City. Guests enjoyed a fabulous evening with sweeping views of the Hudson River from the 31st floor terrace, tasted six diverse Spanish wines and learned about the programs of The Bowery Mission & Kids With A Promise from Director of Outreach, James Macklin. More than $2,000 was raised through ticket purchases and generous contributions at the event. Check out our party pictures on Flickr!
