The Goal of The Bowery Mission & Kids With A Promise is to be the most effective provider of compassionate care and life transformation for hurting people in New York City.

In 2009, The Bowery Mission & Kids With A Promise… 

Provided homeless men and women with more than 346,500 meals, 73,000 nights of shelter and 43,000 articles of clothing, as well as showers, haircuts, 575 professional doctor’s appointments and 48 eye examinations.

Had a life-changing impact on 150 men and women – resulting in a "transformed life" of spiritual growth, sobriety, restored relationships, employment, housing and a plan for the future.

Hosted 920 children from New York’s most impoverished neighborhoods for a week of adventure at Mont Lawn Camp in the Pocono Mountains.

Supported the academic, leadership, and moral development of 12 children in our Young Scholars program and 78 teenagers in our Leadership Academy mentoring program.

Leveraged generous donor support with more than 39,000 hours of volunteer service and more than $2.9 million of in-kind gifts.
